ABOUT US Broadband Communication Networks is a communication technologies solution provider whose objective is to provide communication network solutions for; Mobile Network Operators, Fixed Network Operators, Regulators, Broadcasting houses, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) Governments and large business organizations in East African with our HQ in Nairobi Kenya. We are experienced in End-to-End ICT Networks for diverse applications. Industry: Telecommunications Reports to: EHS Manager ROLE PURPOSE The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Supervisor will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across telecommunications operations, including network sites, towers, data centres, warehouses, offices, and field activities. The role ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and company HSE requirements while promoting a strong safety culture. KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Monitor telecom workplaces (network sites, towers, offices, warehouses, and field operations) to identify hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions. • Develop, review, and implement effective risk control measures for telecom activities such as tower climbing, rigging, electrical works, generator fueling, fibre installation, and maintenance works. • Review existing control measures to assess their effectiveness and recommend additional controls where necessary. • Plan, conduct, and evaluate emergency preparedness activities including fire drills, evacuation drills, electrical incident response drills, and fuel or chemical spillage mock drills. • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits at telecom sites and ensure timely correction of non-conformances. • Deliver HSE induction training and site familiarization for new employees, contractors, and subcontractors. • Conduct scheduled HSE training for employees and contractors, including working at heights, electrical safety, PPE usage, defensive driving, and permit-to-work systems. • Promote incident and near-miss reporting and share lessons learned across the organization to prevent recurrence. • Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare investigation reports; and maintain accurate HSE records for legal, audit, and compliance purposes. • Prepare, review, and maintain HSE documentation including HSE Plans, HSE Manuals, Contractor HSE Manuals, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments (RAMS), ensuring approval before commencement of works. • Carry out inspections of tools, equipment, climbing gear, lifting equipment, generators, and vehicles; apply color coding and inspection tags for compliance and easy identification. • Ensure high standards of environmental protection, hygiene, sanitation, and waste management at telecom sites and offices. • Ensure compliance with occupational safety, environmental regulations, and telecom industry standards. • Liaise with regulators, clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders on HSE matters.
