Bernard G. Wahome, CEO and Managing Director, Broadband Communication Networks Ltd

With 28 dynamic years in the Telecommunication Industry where he has been involved in multi-vendor environment telecommunication systems and projects, Bernard has a vast experience in both fixed and mobile networks systems spanning all technologies. He has managed several wireless telecommunication projects across Africa for network operators. He was instrumental in the deployment of Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA); a point to multi-point networks for Africa expansive rural areas, before the technology was replaced by CDMA and GSM. Today Bernard has been one of the key drivers in the development and support of the mobile communication networks in East Africa covering Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania and supporting the mobile companies to roll out, maintain, test, monitor and manage their networks to guarantee service delivery to their ultimate customers.

Bernard is a Telecommunication and IT professional with over 2 decades of diverse knowledge of both fixed and mobile networks. He has been instrumental in the development of Wireless Communication Network in Africa, covering the South, East, Central and West African Countries, addressing diverse Industry requirements such as Oil and Gas, Governments and Telecom industries. During his journey, Bernard has encountered diverse telecommunication challenges and has worked to provide innovative solutions for both rural and urban areas. His objective is to Enable ICT transformation and improve customers experience using technology across Africa. He is a member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), holds an MBA (JKUAT), Mini Telecom MBA(UK), BSC IT (JKUAT), Telecom Engineering Diploma among other qualifications.

Patrick Kimanzi - General Manager , Managed Services

Patrick is the General Manager, Managed Services Division of Broadband Group. His roles include Business Development, Services Management, Business & Processes Analysis and Key Accounts Management. The Managed Services portfolio offers Network Operations Centre Services, Network Maintenance Services –Telecom, Power & Cooling plants, Site Infrastructure Management, Site Security & Litigation Support Services and Fuel Supply.

Patrick has 25 years experience in the Telecommunication industry in both PSTN and PLMN networks. He has held management positions in the areas of BSS, Transmission Network Planning and Design, Network Quality & Performance Management, Network Operations Management and Managed Services Operations, with various multinational and national telecom entities including Telekom Kenya, Vivendi Telecom International (Kencell), Celtel International, Zain, and Nokia Siemens Networks. Patrick has passion for organizational development, business processes re-engineering, change management, innovation and operations excellence.

Patrick holds a Diploma in Telecom (KNEC), an Advanced Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering from Multimedia University (KCCT) and Mini MBA from Wits Business School, University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He also has extensive industry training in telecom technologies and organizational development.

Susan Gichia - General Manager Finance & Administration, Broadband Group

Susan is the General Manager, Finance &Administration and a Director of Broadband Group, Her role is the financial management which include planning, organizing, measuring & controlling the organizations resources focused on achieving the organization mission and vision.

With 27 years experience in diverse Industries, Susan has been involved in financial management for societies, non-governmental organizations and profit making institutions. She has extensive knowledge of product costing and pricing , project accounting, micro finance accounting, statutory requirements, taxation matters & international standard financial reporting.

Susan also offers support in administration. Her main objective is to exceed both internal and external customer expectations through best practice processes and procedures yet achieving optimal financial results and ensuring growth and innovation. She is a Graduate of Strathmore University and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).

- General Manager , Network Solutions

He is a self-motivated, dynamic sales and business development professional who possesses good experience in sales management (sales pitch through deal closure, solutions/project delivery and implementation) and has ability to influence and negotiate business deals for diverse business environments. He is a team player who works independently and within a team to resolve problems and highly proactive with an ability to build relationships across functional borders.

He has over 6 years’ experience in telecoms industry as a Systems Engineer, Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager with ability to gain account loyalty, with proven long-time partnerships with key accounts.

His success in sales management is attributed to outstanding interpersonal skills, keen eye on customer needs, a strong network of clients and referrals and proven ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in the company including reporting and presentations to management.

He holds an MBA - Strategic Management, Bachelor of Technology Electrical and Communications Engineering (First Class Honours), Electrical Engineering Diploma among other qualifications.

Michael Wambugu - General Manager,Implementation Solutions

Michael is a well-honed leader with demonstrated tact in project management, operations, business acumen and network building that has yielded exceedingly high standard operations, secured business opportunities and motivated in-house teams. He has a proven ability to strategize and implement organic structures towards managing change and capturing business opportunities for growth.

Michael has outstanding interpersonal and talent management skills as reflected by achieving highly motivated teams and low employee turnover. With over 14 years expertise in project management and technical schedule management, he has a demonstrated excellence in bridging operations and customer interface management. He holds an MBA - Strategic Management from Moi University that supplements his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi.
